We got to Ano Nuevo State Park today. There was a ranger truck parked with a satellite radio inside. I flipped through every single frequency. There is nothing. There’s no message on loop, no survivors, no safe zone, just static and silence.

We went down to the beach. There’s hundreds of seals. I’ve never seen so many, and they’re huge. Becky loved it, and it was nice to have something to pull our attention away from the… from everything that’s going on.

We’re near Pescadero. I remember when I was in school I knew a kid that got sent here. I think there’s a mental hospital somewhere up here. I remember he got in trouble, and then shipped off for observation.

I wonder what happened to everyone that was locked up when this happened. Did they let them go; the doctors or prison personnel? Something tells me I doubt it.

I’m sure there’s some lockdown protocol they had to follow. Knowing how the hospital and prison system is here, I’m pretty sure they were left to die in their cells. Most of the prisons were private, and created for profit, so I highly doubt the people running them, or the people they hired, gave two shits about the inmates, or “dangerous” patients.

Fucking Ronald Reagan. Piece of shit. We’re gonna stay here for the night, we did a lot of walking today, and Becky says she likes this place.

She’s setting up the tent right now; I’m sitting a ways back from the beach on a large flat rock, listening to the sea lions bark.

To think of it, they kind of do sound like dogs barking.

Parvo never barked a lot. He was pretty quiet. He just whined.

He’d love it here, all the smells and strange animals. I hope he’s happy wherever he is now. God knows, looking around, he has a lot of company…
